About me

I am blessed beyond belief!

I am a sober, retired wife, momma, sister, auntie, g’ma who is Happy, Healthy, and In Love with my life, and with my amazing husband.

Taking photos is my passion, staying sober is my journey, living an authentic life is my destination.

I have been a WordPress blogger since August, 2011, and I am blown away at the talent and support I have received from my fellow bloggers.  I was taking photos with a point and shoot Olympus for years and purchased my Canon Eos and continue to enjoy discovering new things I can do.

I had two friends who were bloggers and photographers and I read their blogs and coveted my own.  After my 66th birthday  I picked up my camera and started my blog on WordPress!  I haven’t look back since.

You, my friends, have been so kind.  I am reading your blogs and learning how to be a better photographer, but I have a lot to learn.  Some of you have incredible talent and I get such joy from your posts!  So thank you from a newbie who has great desires to learn more, pay attention more and share more.

I am incredibly grateful for your support!!!

So I continue to seek… with you by my side, and I hope to continue to make new friends along the way as I seek, see, and share…

Join me as I seek, won’t you?

  1. Hi Patricia, thanks for visiting my Belgian blog of Chicago’s Bluesfestival. I hope to visit America again this year. You have a wonderful blog too. 🙂

  2. Thanks Patricia for re-blogging Under the Banyon Tree. I got a notice that you reblogged it but did not see yet on your page. Anyway, thanks for finding your way to smallpebbles and for sharing this loving space in the blogging world…in peace….

  3. Hello! This is so random but …what is that necklace you are wearing in your wordpress gravatar photo? …Silver, triangular…some shape in the middle?

    1. It is the symbol for Alcoholics Anonymous that my husband gave me five years ago when I celebrated 25 years sober. I wear it everyday because my sobriety is the foundation of my amazing life! Thanks for asking.

  4. hi Patricia, i am so honored by your clicking “follow” … i have much to learn as well and your encouragement is giving me confidence that i am doing something right, even how minute it may seem, in the big world of blogging 🙂 i am indeed following you back. thank you — April

  5. My Canon is sitting on the dining room table, I got it for my birthday in December, and I still don’t know how to use it. I’m still using my Nikon Coolpix L120 – But I am planning to take a class this coming fall when it comes around in our town 🙂 Your photography is beautiful, I can only hope to be as good!

  6. I am a recovering alcoholic. I haven’t touched a drop since 1979 when I gave my life to Christ. He healed me. I to am a passionate photographer that wants to thank you for stopping by my blog to look & comment. I’ll be checking in on your blog from time to time. – Bob

  7. I too started my blog last August. I was encouraged to start one by Marilyn Armstrong at http://teepee12.com. I was also influenced by my best friend, Warren Stubblefield, who knows the frustration I encountered as a participant in numerous photographic forums. The constant fighting and negative critiques stressed me to the point where I withdrew from every forum. I find bloggers are a much nicer group without testosterone issues.

As a photographer for 42 years my goal is to simply share my beautiful Pacific Northwest. I also love to teach photography and only wish those interested were physically closer for one one one instruction. Now retired at age 63 I have the time to dedicate to my photography and teaching.

I look forward to stopping by to read your as I approach my 600th post already. So far I haven’t burned out or tired of posting 3-9 posts daily. You can never predict what part of the day I’ll add more. Thanks for posting, blogging and for your enthusiasm for photography. – Bob

    1. I have the same enthusiasm, less experience and I am an eager student… the Northwest, my home town in Seattle would have been a beautiful place to take photos, now I live in the desert. Thanks for your kind words and for visiting Bob!

      1. Every environment has beauty if you’re willing to look for it. I remember showing a photograph od pansies to my church pastor and his wife one Sunday. They both asked where I’d taken such a great shot. I told them to look down at their feet as there was a potted plant withe exact flowers right at their feet. They learned the lesson. 🙂

  8. Hello Patricia, I’ve been wandering around your blog and i just love it…your photos are a WOW…looking forward to following you 🙂

  9. Hi, Patricia! I went the opposite direction, lol — I had a point-and-shoot Canon Powershot, and my husband got me an Olympus upgrade from that for my birthday a few years ago. I am still trying to figure it out! I found your blog through Pinterest and wanted to give you a holler!

    1. Thanks for the shout out Becky. I want to learn how to use my canon, to get more creative and I love the lucky shots I have gotten so far. Lets keep in touch. Pinterest is eye candy when I need a break hahaha
