Jan 1.2013 Looking back with gratitude, forward with hope…

Jan 1, 2013 early morning sunrise with iPhone

As I look back at the past year I realize I have taken some pretty big strides toward my “bucket list”… I only call it that because everyone knows what that is.

  • I vowed to pick up my camera and start taking pictures, check!
  • I vowed to start posting to a blog daily to share my favorite photos, and thoughts, check!
  • I vowed to be of service to others by carrying the message, check!
  • I vowed to re-connect with my long lost siblings after almost 40 years, check!
  • I vowed to step out of my comfort zone by setting up a family Facebook page, check!

Now here it is 2013 and I am pondering how I want to grow this year.

  • I want to master the use of my camera and not count on blind ass luck
  • I want to exercise more
  • I want to creatively collaborate with my friend to start a new secret artistic project (we are sworn to secrecy until we choose our method)
  • I want to rewrite my children’s book

That’s a good start, and as the year progresses I know my list will evolve.

For me saying out loud what my heart is feeling is the beginning of the manifestation of dreams.

Look out 2013… here I come!

If you want to turn your life around, try thankfulness.

If you want to turn your life around, try thankfulness. It will change your life mightily.
~ Gerald Good

I would maintain that thanks are the highest form of thought; and that gratitude is happiness doubled by wonder.
~ G.K. Chesterton

Let us be grateful to people who make us happy; they are the charming gardeners who make our souls blossom.
~ Marcel Proust

If we are grateful for what we have and grateful for what we don’t have; is there a better state of mind to be in?…gratitude is a spiritual tool.

I am grateful for you!

I rarely write on my blog, I post my husband’s Mind Travelers-in God we trust, almost daily, and I post my favorite photos.  Most of them taken by me and some that I treasure from others.

However, since the year is quickly coming to an end I feel the urge to speak a few words.

I have seen some very talented writers who are able to express their feelings on a multitude of topics, daily!

I admire their perspectives, whether it is my own or not.

I love the idea of free speech, and the ability of those who can paint pictures with words.

I myself have been a person who had written in a journal for many years.  I even started writing my personal autobiography years ago.  But something happened and I stopped.

I spend a lot of time sharing with other women about life, love, the pursuit of happiness, recovery, the 12 steps, spirituality, growth, honesty, love, families, career choices, kids, and I do that on a daily basis.

The time I do have to do what I love to do is usually spent with a camera or my iPhone in my hand pursuing the images that exemplify how I am feeling at the moment.

I love to tell stories with my photos, and I have been amazed that a few of you enjoy them almost as much as me.

My goals have been to learn how to take better photos, and I have some amazing teachers on WordPress, and several of you share so freely with me every day.  Thank you for your support! You encourage me to continue on my journey.

I wish a peaceful, creative and continued support to you as we share our individual talents with each other.  I love being a part of this family.

You cheer me on, and share that personal piece of yourselves with me very unselfishly.

For that I am truly grateful.

I look forward to getting to know more of you, and I love the friends I have made here on my blog and on yours.

Cheers!

Sunday Post: Peaceful

The Eagles sang, “I got a peaceful easy feeling…”

I have called my style of Tai-Chi Meditation In Motion.  I produced two Tai-Chi videos in the 80’s and 90’s and had my own TV show in Athens, Ohio.  I have taught from Seattle, to Athens, and in California.  I studied in 1972 in Seattle, in San Francisco and Taipei, Taiwan.   Never did I feel more peaceful than when I was practicing and teaching Tai-Chi Chuan for over 30 years.  Breathing with movement has the power to block those outside worries and allow one to gently face the stresses of life.  I continue to use my Tai-Chi breathing today, as a form of meditation… and for that I am truly grateful.  The art of Tai-Chi has been practiced for centuries around the world.  I cherish my gift. pdd

Wonderful Team Member Readership Award

Wonderful Team Member Readership Award – I appreciate team work in blogging!  Thanks so much to http://theretiringsort.wordpress.com/  who nominated me!

This award does have some rules:

  • Display the logo on his/her post/page and/or sidebar – Done!
  • The Nominee must finish this sentence and post: ”A Great reader is…” :  I think a great reader is one who takes time to read and respond to other blogger’s posts, and who takes time to acknowledge and respond to comments and pingbacks on his/her own blog. We’re all in this together, and the team works best when we support and learn from one another.  A quote from the kind blogger who nominated me but my thoughts as well.  I know how much it means to me when one of you sends me a message about how you enjoy something I post.  I take it to heart and try to respond in the same way when I am “moved” by a photo or a story… we PAY IT FORWARD… and we are part of an amazing Team Blog!
  • Nominate 14 readers they appreciate over a period of 7 days (1 week) – this can be done at any rate during the week. It can be ALL on one day or a few on one day and a few on another day, etc., naming his or her nominees on a post or on posts during the 1 week) period. See my list below. These are all people who have taken the time to reach out to other bloggers in comments.
  • The Nominee shall make these rules, or amended rules keeping to the spirit of the Wonderful Team Member Readership Award, known to each reader s/he nominates. Done, in comments on their blogs and pingbacks from this post.  Here are my nominees, keep up the great work and support you have offered me and others:

OMG I was a second from being killed an hour ago…

OMG I was a second from being killed just now… Still shaking. At red light on Hwy 111 and Magnesia Falls light tuned green and I hesitated… A car going 80 mph ran the red light without slowing and would have hit me on my side… I sat for a second and lucky cars behind me didn’t rear end me…. Thank u God thank u God thank u God!!!!!!!
